Reframax Engineering
Our client and partner in important industrial maintenance works – Reframax Engenharia, had the support of SH during the renovation of Gerdau’s Blast Furnace II and peripherals, in the city of Ouro Branco – MG. We began our support intervention in April 2022, during which the factory had to be temporarily shut down for 90 days. During this period, we worked together with Reframax Engenharia to carry out a comprehensive scope of work, which involved the installation, maintenance and subsequent dismantling of essential equipment.
One of the main challenges of this work was the extremely short planning period that we had at our disposal as a support team. Furthermore, we had to deal with strict special requirements and the need to coordinate our actions with
several teams from different disciplines. We also face challenges arising from interference from existing facilities on site. Initially, after a series of meetings and site visits to better understand the needs of the projects, the SH Minas Gerais Unit in collaboration with the National Technical Department of SH, determined the ideal systems for executive solutions in our support role.
During the peak period of the intervention, we had 160 tons of equipment on site as part of the work coordinated with Reframax Engenharia. In summary, our maintenance support work required significant effort to
ensuring that the factory could resume production efficiently after the end of Reframax Engenharia’s main intervention, whilst meeting specific needs efficiently and safely in our support role.
The main challenges of this work were the need to meet a short planning deadline, the scope of special requirements required, interference from existing plants on site, and the high demand for resistance in the structures, which exceeded conventional capabilities, requiring customized solutions. . Furthermore, there was a need to train the construction team and provide guidance in the field to deal with unforeseen events in the project.
SH implemented customized solutions to overcome the challenges of the project. To meet the strength requirements, we developed a robust load platform on the Modex® SH multidirectional scaffold and used Concreform SH® forms with
Lumisystem SH aluminum struts
for concreting the Crucible, including the manufacture of special parts to make the forms compatible with the supports.
Furthermore, the company carried out a
training of the construction team, assembling equipment at the client’s site, and offering continuous support, adapting the project and providing solutions in the field to face unforeseen interference at the construction site.

SH is recognized for the quality and efficiency of its services in large works. But we are not the ones saying that. The person saying this is one of the professionals involved, who had a partnership with SH.
“A work of difficult access, confined structure and large
challenges, but the SH team, projects, technical assistance and logistics, served us as planned, bringing
tranquility in carrying out the work. The assembly of the forms and equipment in general was a success. It was necessary structured equipment *Concreform, Modex and Lumisystem, capable of responding to the robustness of the work. My sincere
Thanks to the SH technical team.”
