You know that feeling of seeing a project come to life, floor by floor? That’s exactly what Arthur Rafael experienced on one of our most challenging projects! As a project intern here at SH, he contributed directly to the designs for shoring solutions for slabs, beams, and column bracing—an experience full of learning experiences on his first vertical project.
Challenges that became opportunities 🚀
According to Arthur, this project was “challenging and transformative, marked by innovation and learning.” Technical obstacles arose—and turned into great lessons:
- Ramp shoring: a new experience for him that required creativity.
- High ceilings and robust beams: required customized engineering solutions.
- Bi-supported profile and double bases: essential strategies for efficiency.
- The secret to success: planning and communication
For him, the biggest lesson learned was the importance of technical planning combined with effective communication among all involved. “For the project to go as planned, synergy between the internal and external teams is essential,” he emphasizes. Creativity was also crucial, with solutions for shoring the ramps and the use of double bases optimizing the construction process.
Watching the pavements take shape and knowing that each step was the result of a collective effort is what makes him most proud, especially since this was his first experience with vertical shoring.
Advice for the future 💡
For those also starting out in construction and dreaming of participating in major projects, his advice is clear:
“Take each challenge as a learning opportunity and always be open to collaboration. Value the exchange of knowledge and understand the impact of each decision on the outcome.”
Here at SH, we value talent and experiences that make a difference. Stories like this motivate us to continue building the future!
