What happened at our last Masterclass? Performance Requirements for Housing Construction
Last Wednesday, we held another edition of our Masterclass, addressing an essential topic for the construction industry: Performance Requirements for Housing Construction. The event featured a special guest appearance by Carlos Alberto de Moraes Borges, a reference in the sector and coordinator of the performance standard.
Carlos Alberto is a Civil Engineer from FAAP, has specializations in Administration (FGV), an MBA in Marketing (ESPM) and a Master’s in Management and Technology (Poli-USP). He is currently a managing partner at Tarjab Incorporadora Ltda and vice president of Technology and Sustainability at Secovi-SP.
During the SH Masterclass, our speaker provided an overview of how building performance parameters have been applied in the sector since 2015. He addressed essential technical criteria to ensure quality, safety and durability in housing construction, highlighting aspects such as:
✅ Performance criteria and minimum requirements for components such as windows, doors and floors;
✅ Expected useful life of buildings and their main systems, including structures and installations;
✅ Importance of well-structured projects to comply with current regulations;
✅ Consumer Protection Code and its relationship with the responsibility of construction companies;
✅ Construction systems and good practices to ensure performance and efficiency.
In addition, Carlos Alberto shared his experience as head of Tarjab, a developer that has already completed more than 100 projects and stands out for its use of BIM and commitment to sustainability. The company adopts innovative practices to improve the performance of its facilities and reduce resource consumption, reaffirming its role in the evolution of the construction industry.
